Our Purpose Statement: Why we exist?
“NYCC” strives to attract people to Jesus, help them find belongingness in His family, nurture
their faith to Christ-like maturity, and train them for their ministry in His church and purpose in this
world, so they can glorify God’s name. Realizing we can best relate to Filipino-Canadians, we
shall strongly keep them in our hearts and minds”.

Becoming a Christian
We believe that it is by grace that we are saved, through response of faith, believing that Jesus
is the Son of God that He died to take the penalty of our sins on Himself and that He was raised
from the dead on the third day by the power of God. Every person capable of faith is called by
God to believe in Jesus as their Savior, repent of sin in their life, make a public confession of
faith that Jesus is Lord and must be joined to Christ and His church receiving baptism (by
immersion) in His name. Having made this response of faith, confession & baptism, all sin is
forgiven and we receive the gift of God’s Holy Spirit to live in us and to empower us to live for
Jesus. All those who come to faith in Him may respond by coming forward during invitation time at
any of our services; make public confession of your faith, repent and be baptized.

All Christians are encouraged in the scripture to belong to a local body of Christ. Membership
here at NYCC is granted by fulfilling the following:
• Become a baptized believer of the Lord Jesus Christ
• Express your desire to be affiliated to our congregation to any of our pastors
or elders
• Attend and complete our Membership Class 101
• Promise to abide to the membership covenant of NYCC
